A simple first-timer plan
Terracotta Warriors, City Wall, or Shaanxi History Museum work well earlier in the day when energy is high and light is softer for phone photos.
Hanfu selection plus one-to-one makeup and hair usually takes about 1–2 hours. Aim to finish before you want to be at the pagoda squares or night boulevard.
After sunset the boulevard lights are a common reason visitors wear hanfu. Dress nearby on Cuihua Road so you are not carrying a suitcase of clothes across town.
If you did a long Terracotta morning, consider dress-up the next afternoon. Rushing makeup after a full museum day is the usual regret we hear from first-timers.
